The 3M™ Cloth Belt 361F measures 8" x 60" and features P240 grit aluminum oxide abrasive grains bonded to a heavy polyester cloth backing. The durable, heat-resistant resin bond supports both wet and dry applications. Grades of P100 and lower use YF-weight polyester backing, while grades higher than P100 utilize a slightly less stiff XF-weight polyester backing. The aluminum oxide mineral is known for its fast cutting, durability, and long life, making it suitable for a wide variety of materials in woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys. The abrasive particles are securely adhered to the cloth backing with resin, providing a strong bond that withstands high heat and pressure. These abrasive belts come in various widths and lengths to fit different belt sanding tools for multiple metalworking applications, including wide belts for wide belt sanders used in flat finishing to smooth rough cut edges or add a grain pattern to stainless steel sheets; medium-width belts for backstands or feed-thru style flat finishers for weld removal and finishing sheets or coils; and narrow belts for backstands or file tools used in grinding, finishing, and working in right-angle corners.
