The 3M™ cloth belt 341D measures 3-1/2" x 15-1/2" and features P120 grit aluminum oxide abrasive grains resin-bonded to a durable X-weight cotton cloth backing, offering continuous cut and long-life performance for aggressive dry sanding applications. Designed for finishing on metal, its closed coat construction provides a consistent, fine finish suitable for producing a grain pattern, but it should not be used wet. The aluminum oxide mineral is known for its cut-rate, durability, and longevity, making it ideal for both woodworking and metalworking, including use on ferrous alloys. The abrasive particles are securely bonded to the cloth with resin to withstand high heat and pressure. Available in various widths and lengths, these belts fit a broad range of industrial belt sanders: wider belts for wide belt sanders to dimension or finish wood panels and metal sheets, medium widths for edge sanders to sand flat, narrow surfaces such as panel edges, and narrow belts for portable sanders to blend wood pieces like cabinet doors. Belts feature various splices including film media splices that minimize chatter marks for smooth running and consistent finishing, and sine wave splices made of interlocking fingers for smooth travel over contact wheels, reduced hinging, and joint strength.
