The 3M™ paper belt 364UZ measures 36" x 75" and features P120 grit aluminum oxide abrasive constructed with a premium aluminum oxide mineral known for its high cut-rate, hardness, strength, and low heat retention. It has an open coat construction on an F-weight paper backing, which is one of the heaviest, most rigid paper backings available, providing durability, smooth operation, and the ability to achieve finer finishes than cloth-backed belts of the same grade. The open coat design resists loading, especially on soft wood, and incorporates 3M dust management technology that reduces static cling of dust particles, improving evacuation when used with an efficient dust collection system. The belt ends are joined using a sine wave splice that enhances belt strength, resists hinging and splice fatigue, travels smoothly over contact wheels and platens, minimizes chatter marks, and ensures smooth operation in either direction for consistent finishing results. The aluminum oxide abrasive is suitable for sanding and finishing applications on a wide variety of substrates including wood and ferrous metal alloys.
