The 3M™ Trisect™ cloth belt 217EA measures 2 inches by 132 inches and features A30 grit aluminum oxide abrasive. It utilizes proprietary micro replication technology, where micron-graded aluminum oxide particles are formed into tiny pyramids of abrasive mineral and coated on a J weight rayon backing. As the pyramids wear down, fresh, sharp mineral is continually exposed, delivering a consistent cut and a predictable, fine finish. This belt is suitable for applications such as blending, finishing, intermediate finishing, polishing, and shaping. It serves industries including builders hardware, medical instruments, metal fabrication, metal implants, plating and polishing, plumbing fixtures, and turbine engines.
