The 3M™ Trisect™ Cloth Belt 217EA measures 3" x 132" and features A45 grit aluminum oxide. Its abrasive and resin structure is specifically designed to break down under medium pressure, maintaining fresh, sharp mineral cutting to ensure consistent finishes on hard metals such as carbon and stainless steel. The belt incorporates a grinding aid to prevent heat buildup, warping, and discoloration, and is constructed on a durable J-weight cloth backing for enhanced control and conformability during medium-pressure grinding. Additionally, the resin bonded abrasive offers greater heat resistance and minimizes the risk of delamination. Featuring a film media splice that forms a strong bond at the belt ends, the product reduces "chatter marks," ensuring smooth operation and consistent finishing results. Compared to traditional abrasive products, proprietary Trisect™ abrasives deliver finer finishes, quicker results, and extended lifespan, lasting up to five times longer than conventional belts while allowing for precise finish control. This design enables operators to reduce grade sequences and streamline processes, ultimately requiring fewer abrasive products. The three-dimensional structures of the abrasives are uniformly distributed across the entire surface, guaranteeing consistent performance and minimizing part-to-part variation.
