The 3M™ Trisect™ cloth belt 237AA measures 3" x 132" and features A16 grit aluminum oxide abrasive with a resin structure designed to break down under medium pressure, maintaining fresh, sharp mineral cutting to deliver consistent finishes on hard metals such as carbon and stainless steel. It includes a grinding aid to reduce heat buildup, warping, and discoloration, and is built on an X-weight cloth backing for durability, control, conformability, and effective medium-pressure grinding. The resin-bonded abrasive enhances heat resistance and prevents delaminating. The belt ends are joined with a film media splice, a thin film-joining media that minimizes chatter marks, ensuring smooth running and uniform finishing results. Proprietary 3M™ Trisect™ abrasives produce finer finishes faster and last longer than conventional abrasives, staying sharp over extended use for predictable, consistent quality. These belts can last up to five times longer than conventional discs, allowing operators to reduce grade sequences and process steps. The three-dimensional abrasive structures distribute uniformly over the surface, ensuring consistent performance without disc-to-disc variation. Applications include blending, centerless and cylindrical grinding, finishing, flat finishing, refining, and stroke sanding, serving industries such as builders hardware, medical instruments, metal fabrication, metal implants, plating and polishing, plumbing fixtures, and turbine engines.
