The 3M™ Paper Belt 466UZ measures 52" x 103" with P180 grit silicon carbide abrasive, constructed with a semi-closed coat of silicon carbide mineral bonded to an F-weight paper backing, one of the heaviest and most durable paper backings available, providing smooth operation and durability ideal for frequent belt replacement. The belt features a closed coat abrasive side for greater grain density, achieving finer finishes than open coat belts, and incorporates dust management technology that reduces static cling in dust particles to enhance removal with an efficient dust collection system. The ends are joined with an interlocking sine wave splice that increases belt strength, resists hinging and splice fatigue, travels smoothly over contact wheels and platens, minimizes chatter marks, and enables smooth operation in either direction for consistent finishing results. The P-graded abrasive grains are screened to a finer tolerance, ensuring a more uniform surface finish. This wide and flat finishing belt is designed with synthetic silicon carbide mineral, which is very sharp and suited for low-pressure applications such as final finishing in whitewood sanding, producing superior finishes but with faster breakdown than aluminum oxide.
