The 3M™ paper belt FullFlex 466UZ measures 52" x 103" with a P220 grit silicon carbide abrasive. It is a smooth running belt constructed with silicon carbide mineral bonded to an F-weight paper backing, which is one of the heaviest and most durable paper backings available, providing finer finishes than cloth backed belts of the same grade. The semi-closed coat construction efficiently sands and finishes flat surfaces in woodworking applications, while the closed coat structure on the abrasive side offers greater grain density for finer finishes compared to open coat belts. This belt features dust management technology that reduces static cling in dust particles, allowing effective removal when used with an efficient dust collection system. The belt ends are joined using an interlocking sine wave splice that promotes belt strength, resists hinging and splice fatigue, travels smoothly over contact wheels and platens, minimizes chatter marks, and supports smooth operation in either direction for consistent finishing results. The P-graded abrasive grains are screened to a finer tolerance than non-P-graded abrasives, producing a more uniform surface finish. The silicon carbide used is a synthetic mineral sharpness suitable for low pressure applications such as final finishing in whitewood sanding, providing a superior finish though it wears faster than aluminum oxide.
