The 3M™ TRISECT™ 60600142594 cloth belt 217EA measures 3" x 132" with A65 grit aluminum oxide abrasive. It features an abrasive and resin structure designed to break down under medium pressure, maintaining fresh, sharp mineral cutting for consistent finishes on hard metals such as carbon and stainless steel. The belt includes a grinding aid to prevent heat buildup, warping, and discoloration, and is constructed on a J-weight durable cloth backing that enhances control, conformability, and effective medium-pressure grinding. The resin bonded abrasive improves heat resistance and prevents delaminating. The belt uses a film media splice, a strong and secure bond joining the belt ends with a thin film-joining media that minimizes chatter marks, ensuring smooth running and consistent finishing results. Proprietary TRISECT™ abrasives provide a finer finish, faster results, and longer life compared to conventional abrasives, lasting up to five times longer and enabling operators to reduce grade sequences and process steps. The three-dimensional abrasive structure uniformly distributes over the surface to ensure consistent performance and eliminate part-to-part variation. Applications include blending, finishing, intermediate finishing, polishing, and shaping, serving industries such as builders hardware, medical instruments, metal fabrication, metal implants, plating & polishing, plumbing fixtures, and turbine engines.
