The 3M™ TriSect™ cloth belt 217EA measures 2" x 148" and features A6 grit aluminum oxide abrasive. It uses proprietary micro replication technology where micron-graded aluminum oxide particles are formed into tiny pyramids of abrasive mineral coated on a J weight rayon backing. As the pyramids wear down, fresh, sharp mineral is continuously exposed, ensuring a consistent cut and predictable fine finish. This belt is suitable for applications such as blending, finishing, intermediate finishing, polishing, and shaping. It serves industries including builders hardware, medical instruments, metal fabrication, metal implants, plating and polishing, plumbing fixtures, and turbine engines.
