The 3M™ Trisect™ cloth belt 237AA measures 2" x 48" and is made with A45 grit aluminum oxide abrasive and resin structure designed to break down under medium pressure, maintaining fresh, sharp mineral cutting that provides consistent finishes on hard metals such as carbon and stainless steel. It features a grinding aid to prevent heat buildup, warping, and discoloration. The belt is constructed on an X-weight durable cloth backing, offering control, conformability, and effective medium-pressure grinding, with resin-bonded abrasive that enhances heat resistance and prevents delaminating. The film media splice used to join the belt ends is a thin film-joining media that reduces chatter marks, ensuring smooth running and consistent finishing results. Compared to conventional abrasives, the proprietary Trisect™ structure produces a finer finish faster and lasts longer, starting sharp and staying sharp for more consistent quality. The belts can last up to five times longer than standard discs and provide precise finish control that reduces grade sequences and process steps. The abrasive's three-dimensional structures are uniformly distributed to ensure consistent performance and eliminate variation between discs. It is suitable for applications such as blending, centerless and cylindrical grinding, finishing, flat finishing, refining, and stroke sanding, serving industries including builders hardware, medical instruments, metal fabrication, metal implants, plating and polishing, plumbing fixtures, and turbine engines.
