The 3M™ Trisect™ cloth belt 237AA measures 2" x 72" and features an A16 grit aluminum oxide abrasive combined with a resin structure designed to break down under medium pressure, maintaining fresh, sharp mineral cutting for consistent finishes on hard metals such as carbon and stainless steel. It incorporates a grinding aid to prevent heat buildup, warping, and discoloration, and is built on an X-weight durable cloth backing that ensures control, conformability, and effective medium-pressure grinding. The resin bonded abrasive provides greater heat resistance and helps prevent delaminating, while the belt ends are joined using a film media splice, a thin film-joining media that minimizes chatter marks, ensuring smooth belt operation and consistent finishing results. Compared to conventional abrasive products, proprietary Trisect™ abrasives produce finer finishes, achieve faster results, and last longer, maintaining sharpness for more predictable finishes and consistent quality. These belts can last up to five times longer than conventional discs and allow for precise finish control, reducing the need for multiple grade sequences and process steps. The three-dimensional structures uniformly distributed across the abrasive surface ensure consistent performance and eliminate disc-to-disc variation. This belt is suitable for applications such as blending, centerless and cylindrical grinding, finishing, flat finishing, refining, and stroke sanding, and serves industries including builders hardware, medical instruments, metal fabrication, metal implants, plating and polishing, plumbing fixtures, and turbine engines.
