The 3M™ Trisect™ cloth belt 237AA measures 2" x 48" and features A100 grit aluminum oxide abrasive with a resin structure designed to break down under medium pressure, maintaining fresh, sharp mineral cutting for consistent finishes on hard metals such as carbon and stainless steel. The belt includes a grinding aid that helps prevent heat buildup, warping, and discoloration. It is constructed on an X-weight durable cloth backing that provides control, conformability, and effective medium-pressure grinding. The resin-bonded abrasive enhances heat resistance and prevents delaminating. The belt uses a film media splice, a thin film-joining media that forms a strong, secure bond joining the belt ends, minimizing chatter marks, ensuring smooth running, and consistent finishing results. Proprietary Trisect™ abrasives produce finer finishes, achieve faster results, and last longer than conventional abrasive products, with belts lasting up to five times longer. The three-dimensional abrasive structures are uniformly distributed over the entire surface, eliminating disc-to-disc variation and providing precise finish control, allowing operators to reduce grade sequences and process steps. Applications include blending, centerless and cylindrical grinding, finishing, flat finishing, refining, and stroke sanding. The belt is suitable for industries such as builders hardware, medical instruments, metal fabrication, metal implants, plating and polishing, plumbing fixtures, and turbine engines.
