The 3M™ Trisect™ cloth belt 237AA measures 2" x 48" and features A30 grit aluminum oxide abrasive with a resin structure formulated to break down under medium pressure, maintaining fresh, sharp mineral cutting for consistent finishes on hard metals such as carbon and stainless steel. It includes a grinding aid to help prevent heat buildup, warping, and discoloration. The belt is constructed on an X-weight, durable cloth backing providing control, conformability, and effective medium-pressure grinding. The resin bonded abrasive offers greater heat resistance and helps prevent delaminating. The belt uses a film media splice, a thin film-joining media that securely bonds the belt ends, minimizes chatter marks, ensures smooth running, and consistent finishing results. Proprietary Trisect™ abrasives produce finer finishes, achieve faster results, and last longer than conventional abrasive products, starting sharp and staying sharp for more predictable finishes and consistent quality. The belts can last up to five times longer than conventional discs and allow operators to reduce grade sequences, resulting in fewer process steps and abrasive products. Three-dimensional structures uniformly distributed over the abrasive surface ensure consistent performance and eliminate disc-to-disc variation. Applications include blending, centerless and cylindrical grinding, finishing, flat finishing, refining, and stroke sanding, serving industries such as builders hardware, medical instruments, metal fabrication, metal implants, plating and polishing, plumbing fixtures, and turbine engines.
