The 3M™ Trisect™ cloth belt 237AA measures 1/2" x 12" and features aluminum oxide A30 grit using proprietary micro replication technology, where micron-graded aluminum oxide particles are formed into tiny pyramids of abrasive mineral coated on an X-weight cloth backing. This design continually exposes fresh, sharp mineral as the pyramids wear, producing a consistent cut and predictable fine finish. The abrasive and resin structure is formulated to break down under medium pressure, maintaining fresh mineral cutting for consistent finishes on hard metals such as carbon and stainless steel, and includes a grinding aid that helps prevent heat buildup, warping, and discoloration. Constructed on an X-weight durable cloth backing, the belt offers control, conformability, and effective medium-pressure grinding, while the resin-bonded abrasive provides greater heat resistance and minimizes delaminating. The belt features a film media splice, a thin film-joining media that creates a strong secure bond joining the belt ends, minimizing chatter marks for smooth running and consistent finishing results. Compared to conventional abrasive products, the Trisect™ abrasive technology produces a finer finish faster, lasts longer, and stays sharp, allowing for more predictable finishes and consistent quality. The belts can last up to five times longer than conventional discs and enable precise finish control, reducing the need for multiple grade sequences or abrasive products. The three-dimensional structures are uniformly distributed over the entire surface, ensuring consistent performance and eliminating disc-to-disc variation.
