The 3M™ Trisect™ cloth belt 237AA measures 1/2" by 18" and features aluminum oxide A100 grit Fullflex scalloped abrasive. It utilizes proprietary micro replication technology where micron-graded aluminum oxide particles are formed into tiny pyramids of abrasive mineral coated on an X-weight cloth backing. This design continuously exposes fresh, sharp mineral as the pyramids wear, resulting in a consistent cut and predictable fine finish. The abrasive and resin structure is formulated to break down under medium pressure, maintaining sharp mineral cutting for consistent finishes on hard metals such as carbon and stainless steel. The belt includes a grinding aid to reduce heat buildup, warping, and discoloration. Constructed on durable X-weight cloth backing, it provides control, conformability, and effective medium-pressure grinding, with resin bonded abrasive offering greater heat resistance and preventing delaminating. It features a film media splice, a strong secure bond joining the belt ends with thin film-joining media that minimizes chatter marks and ensures smooth running and consistent finishing results. The 3M™ Trisect™ abrasives yield a finer finish, faster results, and longer life compared to conventional abrasive products; the belts can last up to five times longer than conventional discs, enabling precise finish control that reduces grade sequences and process steps. Its three-dimensional structures are uniformly distributed over the surface to ensure consistent performance and eliminate disc-to-disc variation. Warranty terms follow standard 3M policies.
