The 3M™ Trisect™ cloth belt 237AA measures 1/2" x 18" and features A100 grit aluminum oxide abrasive. It incorporates proprietary micro replication technology, forming micron-graded aluminum oxide particles into tiny pyramids coated on an X-weight cloth backing. This design continuously exposes fresh, sharp mineral as the pyramids wear, producing a consistent cut and fine finish. The abrasive and resin structure is engineered to break down under medium pressure, maintaining sharp mineral cutting for consistent finishes on hard metals such as carbon and stainless steel. The belt also includes a grinding aid to help prevent heat buildup, warping, and discoloration. Constructed on a durable X-weight cloth backing, it provides control, conformability, and effective medium-pressure grinding, while the resin-bonded abrasive improves heat resistance and prevents delaminating. The belt ends are joined with a film media splice that forms a strong, secure bond, minimizing chatter marks, and ensuring smooth operation with consistent finishing results. Compared to conventional abrasives, 3M™ Trisect™ belts produce finer finishes, achieve results faster, last up to five times longer, and offer precise finish control to reduce grade sequences and overall process steps. The three-dimensional structures uniformly distributed across the abrasive surface ensure consistent performance and eliminate disc-to-disc variation. The product is designed for use in medium-pressure grinding on carbon and stainless steel and maintains quality and durability through its specialized abrasive and backing construction.
