The 3M™ Trisect™ cloth belt 237AA measures 3" x 10-11/16" and features an A16 grit aluminum oxide abrasive with a resin structure designed to break down under medium pressure, maintaining a fresh, sharp mineral cutting surface for consistent finishes on hard metals such as carbon and stainless steel. The belt incorporates a grinding aid to prevent heat buildup, warping, and discoloration, and is built on an X-weight, durable cloth backing that offers control, conformability, and effective medium-pressure grinding. The resin bonded abrasive enhances heat resistance and prevents delaminating. It employs a film media splice, a strong and secure bond consisting of thin film joining media that minimizes chatter marks, ensures smooth running, and delivers consistent finishing results. Compared to conventional abrasives, proprietary Trisect™ abrasives provide a finer finish, faster results, and longer life, starting sharp and remaining sharp for predictable finishes and improved quality. Trisect™ belts can last up to five times longer than conventional discs and enable precise finish control, reducing grade sequences and process steps. The belt's three-dimensional abrasive structure ensures uniform performance and eliminates disc-to-disc variation. It is suitable for applications including blending, finishing, and polishing in industries such as builders hardware, medical instruments, metal fabrication, metal implants, plating and polishing, plumbing fixtures, and turbine engines.
