The 3M™ Trisect™ cloth belt 237AA measures 1/2" x 18" and features A30 grit aluminum oxide abrasive. It utilizes proprietary micro replication technology that forms micron-graded aluminum oxide particles into tiny pyramids of abrasive mineral coated on an X-weight cloth backing. As the abrasive pyramids wear, fresh, sharp mineral is continually exposed to provide a consistent cut and predictable, fine finish. The abrasive and resin structure is formulated to break down under medium pressure, maintaining sharp mineral cutting for consistent finishes on hard metals such as carbon and stainless steel. The belt also includes a grinding aid to help prevent heat buildup, warping, and discoloration. Constructed on a durable X-weight cloth backing, it offers control, conformability, and effective medium-pressure grinding, while the resin bonded abrasive provides greater heat resistance and helps prevent delamination. The belt ends are joined with a film media splice, a thin film-joining media that minimizes chatter marks, ensuring a smooth running belt and consistent finishing results. Compared to conventional abrasive products, 3M™ Trisect™ belts produce finer finishes, achieve faster results, and last longer, starting sharp and staying sharp for improved, consistent quality. These belts can last up to five times longer than conventional discs, offering precise finish control that allows operators to reduce grade sequences, require fewer process steps and abrasive products. Three-dimensional structures are uniformly distributed, ensuring consistent performance and eliminating disc-to-disc variation.
