The 3M™ Trisect™ cloth belt 237AA measures 1/2" x 18" and features aluminum oxide A45 grit. It utilizes proprietary micro replication technology, where micron-graded aluminum oxide particles are formed into tiny pyramids of abrasive mineral coated on an X-weight cloth backing. As the pyramids wear down, fresh, sharp mineral is continually exposed to deliver a consistent cut and predictable, fine finish. The abrasive and resin structure is formulated to break down under medium pressure to maintain fresh cutting edges, providing consistent finishes on hard metals such as carbon and stainless steel. The belt includes a grinding aid to help prevent heat buildup, warping, and discoloration during use. Constructed with an X-weight durable cloth backing, it offers control, conformability, and efficient medium-pressure grinding. The resin-bonded abrasive enhances heat resistance and helps prevent delamination. The belt features a film media splice, a thin film-joining media that securely bonds the belt ends, minimizes chatter marks, ensures smooth running, and delivers consistent finishing results. Compared to conventional abrasive products, 3M™ Trisect™ abrasives produce finer finishes faster and last longer, remaining sharp through use, resulting in predictable finishes and consistent quality. These belts can last up to five times longer than conventional discs and provide precise finish control, enabling operators to reduce grade sequences, require fewer process steps, and decrease the number of abrasive products needed. The three-dimensional abrasive structures are uniformly distributed over the entire surface, ensuring consistent performance and eliminating disc-to-disc variation.
