The 3M™ Trisect™ cloth belt 237AA measures 1/2" x 24" and features A100 grit aluminum oxide abrasive formed using proprietary micro replication technology, where micron-graded particles are shaped into tiny pyramids on an X-weight cloth backing. This design continually exposes fresh, sharp mineral for a consistent cut and fine finish. The abrasive and resin structure is formulated to break down under medium pressure, maintaining sharp cutting for consistent finishes on hard metals such as carbon and stainless steel. The belt incorporates a grinding aid to reduce heat buildup, warping, and discoloration, while the X-weight durable cloth backing provides control, conformability, and effective medium-pressure grinding. The resin-bonded abrasive offers greater heat resistance and prevents delaminating. The belt ends are joined with a film media splice consisting of a thin film-joining media that minimizes chatter marks, ensuring a smooth running belt and consistent finishing results. Compared to conventional abrasive products, 3M™ Trisect™ belts start sharp and stay sharp, offering finer finishes, faster results, and longer life—up to five times longer than conventional discs—with precise finish control that reduces grade sequences and process steps. Three-dimensional structures uniformly distributed across the abrasive surface ensure consistent performance and eliminate disc-to-disc variation.
