The 3M™ Trisect™ cloth belt 237AA measures 1/2" x 24" and features 45 grit aluminum oxide abrasive mineral formed into micron-graded pyramids using proprietary micro replication technology on an X-weight cloth backing. This abrasive and resin structure is designed to break down under medium pressure, continually exposing fresh, sharp mineral for consistent cutting and fine finishing on hard metals such as carbon and stainless steel. The belt incorporates a grinding aid that reduces heat buildup, warping, and discoloration, while its durable cloth backing provides control, conformability, and effective medium-pressure grinding. The resin bonded abrasive offers enhanced heat resistance and prevents delaminating. A film media splice secures the belt ends with a thin film-joining media, minimizing chatter marks for smooth running and consistent finishing results. Compared to conventional abrasives, the 3M™ Trisect™ belt produces a finer finish, delivers faster results, and lasts up to five times longer, enabling precise finish control, reduction of grade sequences, fewer process steps, and less product use. The three-dimensional abrasive structure is uniformly distributed to ensure consistent performance and eliminate disc-to-disc variation.
