The 3M™ Trisect™ Cloth Belt 237AA measures 1/2" x 24" and features aluminum oxide A30 grit abrasive formed using proprietary micro replication technology, with micron-graded aluminum oxide particles shaped into tiny pyramids on an X-weight cloth backing. This design ensures consistent cutting and predictable fine finishes by continuously exposing fresh, sharp mineral as the abrasive pyramids wear. The belt's abrasive and resin structure is formulated to break down under medium pressure to maintain sharp cutting edges and consistent finishes on hard metals such as carbon and stainless steel. It includes a grinding aid to reduce heat buildup, warping, and discoloration, while the X-weight cloth backing enhances control, conformability, and effective medium-pressure grinding. The resin bonded abrasive offers high heat resistance and prevents delaminating. The belt is joined with a film media splice, a thin film-joining media that provides a strong, secure bond to minimize chatter marks and ensure smooth running and consistent finishing. Compared to conventional abrasive products, 3M™ Trisect™ belts produce finer finishes, achieve results faster, and last up to five times longer, allowing operators to reduce grade sequences and abrasive product usage. The three-dimensional abrasive structures are uniformly distributed across the surface, ensuring consistent performance and eliminating disc-to-disc variation.
