The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ SE surface conditioning belt measures 3/4" x 18" and features a medium grit aluminum oxide abrasive designed for cleaning, blending, deburring, and finishing on various metals. Constructed from resin-reinforced non-woven fiber, the belt resists loading and prevents under-cutting or gouging of the workpiece, offering high initial and extended rates of cut with superior edge durability. The product includes an embedded woven fabric scrim in the nylon structure to enhance strength and durability for edge work and efficient blending across all metal types. Aluminum oxide is a tough, durable abrasive known for self-fracturing to expose fresh cutting edges, providing long life and a high cut rate while maintaining low heat retention, making it suitable for grinding, sanding, and finishing applications on a wide variety of substrates including ferrous alloys. This belt is ideal for use in belt sanders, which provide rapid grinding without clogging, as opposed to sanding wheels and discs that may become less efficient due to clogging.
