The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ SE surface conditioning belt measures 3" x 24" and is constructed of resin-reinforced non-woven fiber designed to resist loading and prevent under-cutting or gouging of the work piece. It is engineered for high initial and extended rates of cut while maintaining superior edge durability, suitable for low stretch applications. The belt includes a woven fabric scrim embedded in the nylon structure, providing additional strength and durability for edge work, deburring, and efficient blending of all metal types. This non-woven material combined with coarse-grade aluminum oxide abrasive offers an ideal finish and burr removal. The aluminum oxide used is a tough, durable mineral known for its high cut-rate, hardness, strength, self-fracturing properties to expose fresh cutting edges, and low heat retention, making it suitable for grinding, sanding, and finishing on a wide variety of substrates, including ferrous alloys in woodworking and metalworking. Belt sanders using these belts provide rapid grinding, sanding, and finishing that resist clogging due to small grooves opening as the belt moves around the drive wheel. Typical applications include blending, blending corners, cleaning, contour finishing, deburring, fine finishing, flat finishing, and setting the grain.
