The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ surface conditioning belt measures 4 inches by 36 inches and features medium grit aluminum oxide abrasive mineral, designed to remove coarse grindlines, mill marks, or small burrs left by cutting tools or conventional abrasives. These abrasive belts are compatible with a variety of belt sanding tools across different widths and lengths, suitable for applications on both wood and metal. Scotch-Brite™ SC surface conditioning belts are available with either silicon carbide or aluminum oxide; the aluminum oxide used in this belt provides a high cut rate and long life compared to silicon carbide, which offers a finer finish but breaks down faster. Belt sanders equipped with these belts are effective for rapid grinding, sanding, and finishing, maintaining efficiency by preventing clogging through grooves that open as the belt moves around the drive wheel. This belt is ideal for applications such as blending, corner blending, cleaning, contour finishing, deburring, fine finishing, flat finishing, setting the grain, stainless steel finishing, and achieving a straightline brushed finish, primarily in metalworking industries.
