The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ surface conditioning belt measures 4 inches by 36 inches and features VFN grit aluminum oxide abrasive, designed to remove coarse grindlines, mill marks, or small burrs left by cutting tools or conventional abrasives on both wood and metal. These abrasive belts are compatible with various belt sanding tools and come in different widths and lengths, including wide belts for sanding large wood panels, medium-width belts for portable and edge sanders used on wood pieces such as cabinet doors, and narrow belts for accessing small areas or inside corners in metalworking. The aluminum oxide mineral is hard and blocky, providing a high cut-rate and long life, making it suitable for rapid grinding, sanding, and finishing without clogging due to the small grooves in the belt that open around the drive wheel. The belt is ideal for applications such as blending, contour finishing, deburring, fine finishing, flat finishing, setting the grain, stainless steel finishing, and achieving a straight-line brushed finish.
