The 3M Scotch-Brite surface conditioning belt measures 1" x 12" and features an aluminum oxide medium grit abrasive mineral designed for durable and precise detail work including blending, blending corners, cleaning, contour finishing, deburring and deburring edges, fine finishing, flat finishing, setting the grain, stainless steel finishing, and achieving straightline-brushed finishes on a variety of metals. These SC surface conditioning belts effectively remove coarse grindlines, mill marks, and small burrs left by cutting tools or conventional abrasives. Available in various widths and lengths, these belts are compatible with a range of belt sanding tools suited for applications on both wood and metal. Scotch-Brite SC belts are manufactured using either silicon carbide, a synthetic sharp mineral for low-pressure tasks such as paint preparation and finishing, or aluminum oxide, a hard, blocky mineral offering a high cut-rate and extended life. The belts resist clogging by utilizing small grooves that open around the arc of the drive wheel, enabling continuous sanding and finishing performance on diverse surfaces. They are suitable for use on wide belt sanders for large wood panels, medium-width belts on edge or portable belt sanders for blending wood pieces, and narrow belts for metalworking tasks involving small areas or inside corners.
