The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ surface conditioning belt measures 2 inches by 132 inches and is made with CRS grit aluminum oxide abrasive mineral, which provides a high cut-rate and long life due to its hard, blocky structure. These surface conditioning belts effectively remove coarse grindlines, mill marks, or small burrs left by cutting tools or conventional abrasives. They are available in various widths and lengths to fit multiple industrial belt sanders: wide belts for sanding large wood panels with wide belt sanders, medium-width belts for edge or portable belt sanders used on wood pieces such as cabinet doors, and narrow belts used with file tools in metalworking to access small areas or inside corners. The belts are suitable for applications including blending, blending corners, cleaning, contour finishing, deburring, fine finishing, flat finishing, setting the grain, stainless steel finishing, and achieving a straightline brushed finish, primarily within the metalworking industry. The belt sander system resists clogging due to the small grooves in the abrasive belt that open as the belt moves around the drive wheel.
