The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ surface conditioning belt measures 9" x 48" and is made with CRS grit aluminum oxide abrasive mineral, designed for removing coarse grindlines, mill marks, and small burrs left by cutting tools or conventional abrasives. These belts are available in various widths and lengths to fit a wide range of industrial belt sanding tools for applications on both wood and metal. Wide belts accommodate large wood panels with wide belt sanders, medium-width belts are suitable for edge or portable sanders used on wood pieces like cabinet doors, and narrow belts are intended for metalworking tasks requiring access to small areas or inside corners. The aluminum oxide abrasive provides a high cut-rate and long life, contrasting with silicon carbide, which offers sharper but shorter-lasting cutting and a finer finish. Belt sanders using these belts perform rapid grinding, sanding, and finishing while resisting clogging due to the design of the abrasive belt’s grooves. The belts support applications such as blending, corner blending, cleaning, contour finishing, deburring, fine finishing, flat finishing, grain setting, stainless steel finishing, and creating straightline brushed finishes, primarily used in metalworking industries.
