The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ surface conditioning belt measures 2" x 19" and is made with CRS grit aluminum oxide abrasive mineral, designed to remove coarse grindlines, mill marks, or small burrs left by cutting tools or conventional abrasives. These abrasive belts are available in various widths and lengths and are compatible with different belt sanding tools for applications on both wood and metal. Scotch-Brite™ SC surface conditioning belts are manufactured with either silicon carbide, a sharp synthetic mineral used for low-pressure tasks like paint preparation and finishing, or aluminum oxide, a hard, blocky mineral offering high cut-rate and longer life. Belt sanders equipped with these belts enable rapid grinding, sanding, and finishing across multiple surfaces without clogging, as the small grooves in the abrasive belt open around the drive wheel. Typical uses include blending, blending corners, cleaning, contour finishing, deburring, fine finishing, flat finishing, setting the grain, stainless steel finishing, and achieving a straightline brushed finish.
