The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ surface conditioning belt, measuring 1/4" x 24" and made with silicon carbide SFN grit, is engineered for detailed work including blending, blending corners, cleaning, contour finishing, deburring edges, fine finishing, flat finishing, setting the grain, stainless steel finishing, and achieving straightline-brushed finishes on various metals. These SC surface conditioning belts effectively remove coarse grindlines, mill marks, and small burrs left by cutting tools or conventional abrasives. Available in many widths and lengths, they are compatible with diverse belt sanding tools used on wood and metal. Wide belts fit industrial wide belt sanders for large wood panels, medium-width belts suit edge or portable belt sanders for pieces like cabinet doors, and narrow belts work with file tools in metalworking for small areas or inside corners. The belts come with a choice of silicon carbide, a sharp synthetic mineral ideal for low-pressure tasks like paint preparation and finishing, or aluminum oxide, a hard blocky mineral known for high cut-rate and durability; silicon carbide breaks down faster but yields a finer finish. Belt sanders provide rapid grinding, sanding, and finishing without clogging, as the abrasive belts have grooves that open during use. The product includes a warranty per 3M's standard terms.
