The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ surface conditioning belt measures 4" x 84" and features VFN grit aluminum oxide. These Scotch-Brite™ SC surface conditioning belts are designed to remove coarse grindlines, mill marks, or small burrs left by cutting tools or conventional abrasives. Available in various widths and lengths, the belts are compatible with many belt sanding tools, suitable for applications on both wood and metal. Scotch-Brite™ SC belts come with abrasive minerals options including silicon carbide—a very sharp synthetic mineral ideal for low-pressure applications such as paint preparation and finishing—and aluminum oxide, which is a hard, blocky mineral delivering a high cut rate and long life. Although silicon carbide wears down faster than aluminum oxide, it produces a finer finish. The belts operate without clogging as small grooves in the abrasive open continuously during use, making them effective for rapid grinding, sanding, and finishing on multiple surfaces. Typical applications include blending, blending corners, cleaning, contour finishing, deburring, fine finishing, finishing, flat finishing, setting the grain, stainless steel finishing, and achieving a straightline brushed finish. The belts are widely used in metalworking industries.
