The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ surface conditioning belt measures 4" x 90" and features a medium grit aluminum oxide abrasive mineral designed to remove coarse grindlines, mill marks, or small burrs left by cutting tools or conventional abrasives. These surface conditioning belts are available in various widths and lengths and fit a wide range of industrial belt sanders, including wide belt sanders for large wood panels, medium-width belts for edge or portable sanders used on wood pieces like cabinet doors, and narrow belts for metalworking file tools accessing small areas or inside corners. The aluminum oxide mineral is hard and blocky, providing a high cut rate and long life. Scotch-Brite™ SC surface conditioning belts excel in applications such as blending, blending corners, cleaning, contour finishing, deburring, fine finishing, flat finishing, setting the grain, stainless steel finishing, and producing a straightline brushed finish, primarily serving the metalworking industry. Belt sanders equipped with these belts offer rapid grinding, sanding, and finishing without clogging, as the belt’s small grooves open around the drive wheel's arc to maintain efficiency.
