The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ surface conditioning belt measures 4" x 90" and features VFN grit aluminum oxide, designed to remove coarse grindlines, mill marks, or small burrs left by cutting tools or conventional abrasives. These abrasive belts are available in various widths and lengths, suitable for a wide range of belt sanding tools used on wood and metal surfaces. The product line includes belts for wide belt sanders used on large wood panels, medium-width belts for edge or portable belt sanders targeting cabinet doors and wood pieces, and narrow belts compatible with file tools in metalworking for accessing small areas or inside corners. The Scotch-Brite™ SC surface conditioning belts are available with silicon carbide or aluminum oxide abrasive minerals; silicon carbide is a sharp synthetic mineral suited for low-pressure applications such as paint prep and finishing, while aluminum oxide is a hard, blocky mineral that provides a high cut rate and extended life. Belt sanders equipped with these belts offer rapid grinding, sanding, and finishing without clogging, as grooves in the abrasive belt open during use. Typical applications include blending, blending corners, cleaning, contour finishing, deburring, fine finishing, flat finishing, grain setting, stainless steel finishing, and creating straightline brushed finishes, primarily serving the metalworking industry.
