Distinguished by its purple backing, this belt employs aluminum oxide, a robust and durable abrasive that self-fractures to reveal fresh cutting edges during use. Unlike traditional abrasives, aluminum oxide maintains a high cut-rate, hardness, and strength while minimizing heat retention, making it ideal for grinding, sanding, and finishing applications on various substrates, including ferrous alloys in both woodworking and metalworking.
