The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ SE surface conditioning belt measures 1" x 18" and features a coarse grade aluminum oxide abrasive suited for cleaning, blending, deburring, and finishing on various metals. Constructed from resin-reinforced non-woven fiber, the belt resists loading, prevents under-cutting or gouging of the workpiece, and is designed for high initial and sustained cut rates while maintaining superior edge durability. It includes an embedded woven fabric (scrim) within the nylon structure to enhance strength and durability during edge work, deburring, and efficient blending across all metal types. The aluminum oxide abrasive is known for toughness, high cut-rate, hardness, strength, low heat retention, and self-fracturing properties that expose fresh cutting edges, making it suitable for grinding, sanding, and finishing on ferrous alloys and various substrates in both woodworking and metalworking applications. The belt is engineered for use in low-stretch applications and is compatible with belt sanders, which provide rapid grinding and finishing without clogging, unlike sanding wheels and discs.
