The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ surface conditioning belt measures 2" x 30" and is made with CRS grit aluminum oxide. These Scotch-Brite™ SC surface conditioning belts are designed to remove coarse grindlines, mill marks, or small burrs left by cutting tools or conventional abrasives. The abrasive belts come in various widths and lengths suitable for different belt sanding tools and applications on both wood and metal. The belts are manufactured with either silicon carbide or aluminum oxide abrasive minerals; silicon carbide is a sharp synthetic mineral ideal for low-pressure applications such as paint preparation and finishing, while aluminum oxide is a hard, blocky mineral that delivers a high cut-rate and long life. Belt sanders equipped with these belts provide rapid grinding, sanding, and finishing on a range of surfaces, maintaining efficiency without clogging due to the small grooves in the abrasive belt that open as they move around the drive wheel. The belts are applicable for tasks including blending, corner blending, cleaning, contour finishing, deburring, fine finishing, flat finishing, setting the grain, stainless steel finishing, and achieving a straight-line brushed finish. The product is commonly used in metalworking industries.
