The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ surface conditioning belt measures 25" x 60" with medium grit aluminum oxide abrasive. This durable belt is engineered for detail work including blending, blending corners, cleaning, contour finishing, deburring edges, fine finishing, flat finishing, setting the grain, stainless steel finishing, and achieving straight-line-brushed finishes on various metals. It effectively removes coarse grindlines, mill marks, and small burrs left by cutting tools or conventional abrasives. Available in multiple widths and lengths, these belts fit different industrial belt sanding tools suited for wood and metal applications, including wide belt sanders for large wood panels, medium-width belts for edge and portable sanders used on cabinet doors, and narrow belts for metalworking in small areas or inside corners. The Scotch-Brite™ SC belts come with a choice of silicon carbide or aluminum oxide abrasive minerals; silicon carbide is a sharp synthetic mineral ideal for low-pressure applications such as paint preparation and finishing, producing a finer finish but wearing faster, while aluminum oxide is a hard, blocky mineral offering high cut-rate and long life. Belt sanders utilizing these belts perform rapid grinding, sanding, and finishing without clogging due to the abrasive belt's grooved design that opens around the drive wheel arc, maintaining efficiency on various surfaces.
