The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ surface conditioning belt measures 25" x 48" and features medium grit aluminum oxide abrasive. This durable belt is engineered for detail work including blending, blending corners, cleaning, contour finishing, deburring edges, fine finishing, flat finishing, setting the grain, stainless steel finishing, and achieving straightline-brushed finishes on various metals. It effectively removes coarse grindlines, mill marks, and small burrs left by cutting tools or conventional abrasives. The abrasive belts are available in multiple widths and lengths to fit a range of industrial belt sanding tools used on wood and metal; wide belts for large wood panels on wide belt sanders, medium-width belts for edge or portable sanders for blending wood pieces like cabinet doors, and narrow belts for metalworking with file tools to access small areas or inside corners. The Scotch-Brite™ SC belts are manufactured with a choice of silicon carbide or aluminum oxide abrasive minerals. Silicon carbide, a sharp synthetic mineral suited for low-pressure applications such as paint preparation and finishing, breaks down faster but yields a finer finish. Aluminum oxide is a hard, blocky mineral that offers a high cut rate and long life. Belt sanders equipped with these belts perform rapid grinding, sanding, and finishing on multiple surfaces; unlike sanding wheels and discs that may clog, the abrasive belt’s grooves open as they pass around the drive wheel, maintaining sanding efficiency. The product complies with relevant industry standards and the packaging includes the 25" x 48" medium grit aluminum oxide surface conditioning belt.
