The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ durable flex belt measures 1/4" x 18" and features aluminum oxide fine grit designed for tough detail work such as deburring, blending, and finishing on a variety of metals. It includes a reinforced, low-stretch backing with superior edge durability that provides aggressive cutting ability. The belt is made from a non-woven fiber material that runs cool, resists loading, and withstands edge work, while the aluminum oxide abrasives deliver effective cutting action and consistent finishing performance throughout the belt's lifespan. Recognizable by its purple backing, the belt uses aluminum oxide abrasive, known for a high cut-rate, long life, toughness, and self-fracturing to reveal fresh cutting edges, making it suitable for grinding, sanding, and finishing on ferrous alloys and a wide range of substrates in woodworking and metalworking. Belt sanders equipped with this belt avoid clogging through small grooves in the abrasive belt, enabling rapid grinding, sanding, and finishing.
