The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ surface conditioning belt measures 36" x 75" and features medium grit aluminum oxide abrasive. It is designed for detail work including blending, blending corners, cleaning, contour finishing, deburring edges, fine finishing, flat finishing, setting the grain, stainless steel finishing, and achieving straightline-brushed finishes on various metals. The belt effectively removes coarse grindlines, mill marks, and small burrs left by cutting tools or conventional abrasives. These abrasive belts are available in different widths and lengths to accommodate a range of belt sanding tools for applications on both wood and metal. Wide belts are suitable for sanding and finishing large wood panels, medium-width belts are used with edge or portable belt sanders for cabinet doors and similar items, and narrow belts fit file tools for metalworking in small areas or inside corners. Scotch-Brite™ SC surface conditioning belts are made with either silicon carbide or aluminum oxide abrasive minerals; silicon carbide is sharp and ideal for low-pressure applications like paint preparation and finishing, while aluminum oxide offers high cut-rate and long life, producing a coarser but more durable finish. Belt sanders enable rapid grinding, sanding, and finishing of various surfaces and tend to resist clogging due to the small grooves in the abrasive belt that open as they pass around the drive wheel arc. The belts meet applicable industry standards and come with manufacturer warranty terms covering defects and performance.
