The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ surface conditioning belt measures 1-1/2" x 60" and features a medium grit aluminum oxide abrasive mineral designed for removing coarse grindlines, mill marks, or small burrs left by cutting tools or conventional abrasives. These belts come in various widths and lengths to fit a wide range of industrial belt sanders, including wide belt sanders for large wood panels, medium-width belts for edge or portable sanders used on cabinet doors, and narrow belts for metalworking file tools accessing small areas or inside corners. Scotch-Brite™ SC surface conditioning belts are available with either silicon carbide, a synthetic, sharp mineral ideal for low-pressure applications like paint preparation and finishing, or aluminum oxide, a hard, blocky mineral known for a high cut rate and long life. Belt sanders provide rapid grinding, sanding, and finishing on diverse surfaces and maintain efficiency without clogging due to small grooves in the abrasive belt that open as the belt passes around the drive wheel. Applications include blending, blending corners, cleaning, contour finishing, deburring, fine finishing, flat finishing, setting the grain, stainless steel finishing, and achieving a straightline brushed finish, primarily for metalworking industries.
