The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ surface conditioning belt measures 1-1/2" x 60" and features VFN grit aluminum oxide abrasive mineral, designed to remove coarse grindlines, mill marks, or small burrs left by cutting tools or conventional abrasives. These abrasive belts are available in multiple widths and lengths to fit a variety of belt sanding tools for applications on wood and metal. Scotch-Brite™ SC surface conditioning belts are available with silicon carbide or aluminum oxide abrasive minerals; silicon carbide is sharp and suited for low-pressure applications like paint preparation and finishing, whereas aluminum oxide offers a high cut rate and long life due to its hard, blocky structure. Belt sanders equipped with these belts are ideal for rapid grinding, sanding, and finishing on various surfaces and maintain efficiency without clogging, as the belts feature small grooves that open around the drive wheel arc.
