The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ SE surface conditioning belt measures 1/2" x 24" and features a medium grit aluminum oxide abrasive designed for cleaning, blending, deburring, and finishing various metals. Constructed of resin-reinforced non-woven fiber, the belt resists loading and prevents under-cutting or gouging of the workpiece, offering high initial and sustained cut rates along with superior edge durability. The conditioning belt incorporates a woven fabric scrim embedded in a nylon structure to enhance strength and durability for edge work and efficient blending across all metal types. Aluminum oxide is used due to its toughness, long life, and ability to self-fracture, exposing fresh cutting edges, making it suitable for grinding, sanding, and finishing on substrates including ferrous alloys. The belt is ideal for low-stretch applications and is compatible with belt sanders, which provide rapid grinding without clogging, unlike sanding wheels and discs.
