The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ SE surface conditioning belt measures 1/4" x 18" and features coarse grade aluminum oxide abrasive designed for cleaning, blending, deburring, and finishing on a variety of metals. Constructed from resin-reinforced non-woven fiber, the belt resists loading and prevents under-cutting or gouging the workpiece, offering high initial and extended cut rates with superior edge durability. The belt includes a woven fabric scrim embedded in the nylon structure for added strength and durability, enhancing edge work, deburring, and blending efficiency on all metal types. Aluminum oxide, known for its toughness, long life, self-fracturing capability to expose fresh cutting edges, high cut-rate, hardness, strength, and low heat retention, is suitable for grinding, sanding, and finishing on ferrous alloys and various substrates in woodworking and metalworking. The belt is designed for use in low stretch applications on belt sanders, which provide rapid grinding without clogging due to the small grooves in the abrasive material.
