The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ surface conditioning belt measures 3" x 118" and features a medium grit aluminum oxide abrasive. These belts effectively remove coarse grindlines, mill marks, and small burrs left by cutting tools or conventional abrasives. Available in various widths and lengths, they are compatible with multiple belt sanding tools for applications on both wood and metal. The Scotch-Brite™ SC surface conditioning belts come with choice of abrasive minerals, including silicon carbide, which is sharp and suited for low-pressure tasks like paint preparation and finishing, and aluminum oxide, a hard, blocky mineral offering a high cut-rate and long life. The belts perform well in rapid grinding, sanding, and finishing on diverse surfaces, maintaining efficiency without clogging due to small grooves that open as the belt moves over drive wheels. Typical applications include blending, blending corners, cleaning, contour finishing, deburring, fine finishing, setting the grain, stainless steel finishing, and achieving a straight line brushed finish.
