The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ Durable Flex Belt measures 1/4" x 24" and features aluminum oxide medium grit abrasives designed for tough detail work such as deburring, blending, and finishing on a variety of metals. The belt incorporates a reinforced, low-stretch backing with superior edge durability for aggressive cutting performance. Made of non-woven fiber material, it runs cool, resists loading, and withstands edge work while delivering consistent finishing over its lifespan. The aluminum oxide abrasive, known for its high cut-rate, hardness, strength, and low heat retention, is suitable for use on ferrous alloys and other substrates in woodworking and metalworking. The belt’s purple backing distinguishes it among Scotch-Brite™ durable flex belts. Belt sanders utilizing this product provide rapid grinding, sanding, and finishing without clogging, as grooves in the abrasive belt open around the drive wheel. Typical applications include blending, blending corners, cleaning, contour finishing, fine finishing, flat finishing, grain setting, stainless steel finishing, and producing a straight-line brushed finish, primarily in the metalworking industry.
