The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ surface conditioning belt measures 4" x 132" and features a medium grit aluminum oxide abrasive mineral, designed to remove coarse grindlines, mill marks, or small burrs left by cutting tools or conventional abrasives. These belts are available in various widths and lengths to fit industrial belt sanders, including wide belt sanders used for large wood panels, medium-width belts for edge or portable sanders suitable for wood pieces like cabinet doors, and narrow belts for metalworking file tools to access small areas or inside corners. The aluminum oxide abrasive is a hard, blocky mineral providing a high cut-rate and long life, with the belts functioning effectively for rapid grinding, sanding, and finishing on wood and metal surfaces, resisting clogging due to small grooves that open on the belt’s drive wheel arc. Applications include blending, blending corners, cleaning, contour finishing, deburring, fine and flat finishing, setting the grain, stainless steel finishing, and achieving a straightline brushed finish, primarily serving the metalworking industry.
