The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ surface conditioning belt measures 2" x 72" and is made with CRS grit aluminum oxide. These Scotch-Brite™ SC surface conditioning belts effectively remove coarse grindlines, mill marks, and small burrs left by cutting tools or conventional abrasives. The abrasive belts are available in various widths and lengths to fit a range of belt sanding tools used on both wood and metal. At 3M™, a broad selection of belts is offered to accommodate most industrial belt sanders, including wide belts for large wood panels, medium-width belts for edge or portable sanders such as those used on cabinet doors, and narrow belts for metalworking in small areas or inside corners. The belts feature abrasive minerals including silicon carbide, a very sharp synthetic mineral suitable for low-pressure applications like paint preparation and finishing, and aluminum oxide, a hard, blocky mineral delivering a high cut rate and long life. Aluminum oxide provides durability while silicon carbide produces a finer finish but breaks down faster. Belt sanders facilitate rapid grinding, sanding, and finishing on various surfaces, with the belts’ grooved abrasive design preventing clogging as they move around the drive wheel arc. Applications include blending, corner blending, cleaning, contour finishing, deburring, fine finishing, flat finishing, grain setting, stainless steel finishing, and straightline brushed finishes. These belts are widely used in metalworking industries.
